Inmarsat wins Achievement Award at 10th Arab Telecom and Internet Forum

Dubai, June 3, 2011 - Inmarsat, the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services, was awarded with the Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Achievement Award at the 10th Arab Telecommunications and Internet Forum (ATIF), in recognition of exceptional contribution to the development of the satellite communications sector in the Middle East region. Inmarsat was the only mobile satellite services operator to be awarded this achievement. The ceremony was held at the Habtoor Grand Hotel - Beirut, Lebanon, and attended by Arab Telecommunications and Information ministers, members of the International Telecommunication Union, and the region's leading professionals in the telecommunications industry from the Middle East and Africa.

Now in its 10th year, ATIF 2011, under the theme 'Towards new business models', discusses the new business models in the Telecom sector and the main challenges facing major players in the sector in following-up changes in these business models, to launch new services and to execute successful expansion in developing markets.

Inmarsat are recognized leaders in the field and continue to introduce new technologies that redefine the standard for the industry. Inmarsat's current fleet of 11-satellites already provides seamless mobile voice and data communications around the world, enabling users to make phone calls or connect to the internet - whenever and wherever they need - on land, at sea or in the air.
